Scuba Diving in the Andamans

The Andamans are the easiest place in India to fall in love with diving: warm water, 15–25 metres of visibility in season and reefs that start a few fin-kicks from shore. Havelock is the hub, with certified dive schools clustered around Beach No. 3 and Elephant Beach.

Never dived before? You don’t need to swim. An intro “Discover Scuba” shore dive — basic training, full gear, an instructor holding your hand almost literally — runs ₹3,500–₹4,500 and gets you 30–40 minutes underwater at 3–6 metres. Certified divers can join boat dives to sites like The Wall and Aquarium from about ₹5,500 for two tanks.

Season matters: October to May offers the calm seas and visibility; June–September dives still run on sheltered sites but conditions vary. Book morning slots — the water is calmest and the light underwater is better for photos.

Every Azure Trails package includes one complimentary shore dive per person, with underwater photos. Want more? We add boat dives or a PADI course at local rates, with operators we dive with ourselves.
